      SAN DIEGO - A San Diego County man who hoped to cash in on the popularity of Nascar racing says a Colorado company gummed up his plan.
      Carl E. Hoffman planned to sell gum in race-related packaging, aiming to profit from Nascar fans' penchant for a good chew by offering them a nontobacco product that wasn't unhealthy.
