House Approves SEC Legislation

The House of Representatives approved legislation to give the Securities and Exchange Commission the authority to issue nationwide subpoenas for civil actions brought in federal court.

The House of Representatives approved legislation, introduced by Newport Beach Republican Rep. John Campbell, to give the Securities and Exchange Commission the authority to issue nationwide subpoenas for civil actions brought in federal court. The Senate would have to pass Campbell's bill before it could become law.
