SAN JOSE - Mediating a major business dispute at a resort on a Philippine island might sound like an exotic job to some, but JAMS neutral Richard M. Silver never got the chance to enjoy his surroundings.
For seven days straight, Silver and the group of attorneys and clients negotiated from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., finally reaching an agreement about two hours before his flight home.
