Citing small PAGA payout, judge rejects Uber settlement

A judge rejected a settlement of up to $100 million between Uber Technologies Inc. and a class of California and Massachusetts drivers Thursday in a lawsuit over the drivers' employment status.

A judge rejected a settlement of up to $100 million between Uber Technologies Inc. and a class of California and Massachusetts drivers Thursday in a lawsuit over the drivers' employment status.

U.S. District Judge Edward M. Chen issued an order that focused his displeasure on the parties ponying up just $1 million toward a Private Attorneys General Act claim.
