Bar association bring LA legal communtiy together

The Los Angeles County Bar Association's litigation section held its 2013 Bench Meets the Bar Luncheon on Jan. 30, bringing together more than 500 federal and state court judges and lawyers in the Los Angeles community to meet and discuss the state of the court. George H. King, chief judge of the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the Honorable David S. Wesley, presiding judge of the Los Angeles Superior Court, shared their insight into the current issues and challenges facing the federal and state courts. In addition, LACBA's litigation section presented its second annual Jim Robie Professionalism and Civility Award to Gretchen M. Nelson, partner at Kreindler & Kreindler LLP. Also honored at Bench Meets the Bar was Renee A. Fisher as United States District Court Clerk of the Year, and Rory Corrigan as the Los Angeles Superior Court Judicial Assistant of the Year. Ken Feldman, partner at Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP and a member of LACBA's litigation section executive committee, chaired the annual Bench Meets Bar event.
