Trusts and estates lawyer will be disbarred for stealing $275,000 from elderly client

Escondido trusts and estates lawyer Sydney Claire Kirkland has stipulated with the State Bar that she should be disbarred for spending more than $275,000 belonging to an elderly client. She also faces three felony counts.

An Escondido trusts and estates attorney has agreed to be disbarred for stealing more than $275,000 from an elderly client.


Sydney Claire Kirkland also is being prosecuted on felony counts of financial elder abuse, embezzlement and grand theft, according to the State Bar and media reports.
