AT&T buys Verizon licenses for $1.9 billion

Dallas-based AT&T Inc. announced it's purchasing dozens of licenses from Verizon Wireless with help from Sullivan & Cromwell LLP.

The nation's No. 2 wireless carrier, in line with its plan to expand U.S. coverage, has dialed up a $1.9 billion deal to purchase licenses for additional band spectrum.
