Court upholds legislation channeling $2.05 billion in redevelopment money to schools

A state appellate panel Thursday affirmed a trial court's ruling upholding a 2009 bill that channeled $2.05 billion from redevelopment agencies to school districts.

A state appellate panel Thursday affirmed a trial court's ruling upholding a 2009 Assembly bill that channeled $2.05 billion from redevelopment agencies to school districts. In the published opinion, the panel of the 3rd District Court of Appeal in Sacramento also reversed a decision to grant $320,000 in attorney fees to the California Redevelopment Association, which brought two of the three cases the panel consolidated for review....
