Santa Clara prosecutor gets public reproval

A State Bar judge on Friday found a Santa Clara prosecutor guilty of suppressing evidence because he didn't disclose a videotape that was favorable to the defense in a sexual assault case. The judge ordered a public reproval as punishment.

A State Bar judge on Friday found a Santa Clara prosecutor guilty of suppressing evidence and ordered a public reproval as his punishment.

State Bar Court Judge Pat McElroy determined in her decision that Santa Clara deputy district attorney Troy A. Benson failed to disclose a videotape that was favorable to the defense in a sexual assault case.
