Women HeldDown Legal Home Front

Lucy the Lawyer didn't make a formidable appearance during World War II, unlike her blue-collar counterpart, Rosie the Riveter. However, according to some California women lawyers, wartime did allow them certain professional and academic opportunities they probably wouldn't have gotten otherwise - the result largely of the shrinking numbers of civilian men.
