WASHINGTON - In an effort to protect immigrants from exploitation, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., introduced legislation Thursday that would make a federal crime out of impersonating an attorney to defraud people looking for help with immigration matters.

The bill would create the first federal statute to specifically outlaw immigration fraud.
