Environmental groups sue government agency for crude oil export information

In a lawsuit, the Center for Biological Diversity allege the federal government is denying access to documents that shed light on the government's role in the increase of oil exports.

With national oil exports booming in recent years, few are aware of the 40-year-old
ban on the trade. Signed in 1975, the Energy Policy and Conservation Act disallowed
crude oil exports with one exemption - national interest.
