High court raises new questions in Apple-Samsung design patent case

The U.S. Supreme Court has restricted opportunities for design patent holders to win massive damages in the latest development of the "smartphone war" between Apple Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.

Monday's unanimous 8-0 decision continues a trend of the high court reversing the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in patent law cases.
