County public defenders hiring full-time immigration specialists

County public defender's offices across the state are hiring full-time specialists to assist defendants accused of crimes with immigration consequences.

Raha Jorjani has worked for the Alameda County public defender's office for nearly three years, but she said, "I've never appeared in a regular criminal court."
