4th District splits, reverses two murder convictions

The Court of Appeals found erroneous jury instructions created a prejudicial error in a duo’s convictions for the 2005 murder of a drug dealer’s 90-year-old grandmother.

In a split decision Wednesday, the 4th District Court of Appeal reversed the convictions of Keisha Renee Smith and Michael Mitchell after finding erroneous jury instructions created a prejudicial error in the duo's convictions for the 2005 murder of a drug dealer's 90-year-old grandmother.
