Civil investigations have been closed against all 11 former executives at Countrywide Financial, the company involved in subprime mortgage-backed securities that were subsequently purchased by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The decision was conveyed in letters sent June 10 by Leon W. Weidman, the U.S. attorney's special counsel for civil and criminal litigation.
