Longtime LA bankruptcy judge to be reappointed, 9th Circuit announces

Barry Russell of Los Angeles, the longest-serving full-time bankruptcy judge in the U.S., will be reappointed to a new 14-year term, the 9th Circuit announced on Monday.

Barry Russell of Los Angeles, the longest-serving full-time bankruptcy judge in the U.S., will be reappointed to a new 14-year term, the 9th Circuit announced on Monday. Russell, 74, has almost 40 years of continuous service to the Central District bankruptcy court. His reappointment will be effective Aug. 27.
