Fewer, bigger IPOs in first quarter of 2013

U.S. initial public offering activity dropped during the first quarter from the same period last year, but companies raised more per offering than they did during that period, according to a recent report.

U.S. initial public offering activity dropped during the first quarter from the same period last year, but companies raised more per offering than they did during that period, according to a recent report.


Companies nationwide raised $7.6 billion in 31 IPOs during the first quarter, compared to 42 IPOs in the year-earlier period that raised $5.9 billion.
