Covered California, an independent state agency tasked with creating a new health insurance marketplace for individuals and small businesses under the federal Affordable Care Act, has named its first general counsel.
Kathleen M. Keeshen will advise the agency on a variety of program and operations matters in preparation for the Jan. 1 start date of new coverage programs, the organization announced last week.
