SAN FRANCISCO - With two weeks until Election Day, an appellate attorney has stepped in to challenge embattled Sacramento County Judge Peter J. McBrien for his seat on the bench.
Matthew J. Smith, a lead attorney with the 3rd District Court of Appeal in Sacramento, was certified Thursday as a write-in candidate against the family court judge.
