Justices Will Decide if Patent Case Should be Heard in State Court

A patent dispute in Southern California over a compound used for making an anti-cancer drug will be resolved by the U.S. Supreme Court after the justices decided Tuesday to hear the case.

WASHINGTON - A patent dispute in Southern California over a compound used for making an anti-cancer drug will be resolved by the U.S. Supreme Court after the justices decided Tuesday to hear the case.

The key issue is whether the complaint made by two Korean researchers against the pharmaceutical's manufacturer, Carlsbad Technology Inc., should be resolved in state or federal court.
