Carona Jurors Could Hear About Prosecutors' Ethics Lapses

The federal jury that will hear the corruption trial against former Orange County Sheriff Mike Carona likely will learn that assistant U.S. attorneys violated lawyer ethics during the investigation.

SANTA ANA - The federal jury that will hear the corruption trial against former Orange County Sheriff Mike Carona likely will learn that assistant U.S. attorneys violated lawyer ethics during the investigation.

U.S. District Judge Andrew J. Guilford said Tuesday that he might ask the defense and prosecutors to agree on a statement about the ethical violation that he could read to the jury.
