Riverside Jurist Sets Aside Emotional Pleas to Rule by the Law

INDIO - Commissioner Michael McCoy has seen a lot of families torn apart because parents can't kick a drug or alcohol habit. In a particularly heart-wrenching case recently, the Riverside Superior Court family law commissioner listened to a drug-addicted mother's passionate plea to spend time with her child even though she had violated court orders to attend a rehabilitation program.
