Activists Sue Over Missed Deadline
SAN FRANCISCO - Environmentalists sued the Secretary of the Interior and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Monday after it missed a deadline to decide whether to list the polar bear under the Endangered Species Act. The federal agency had until Jan. 9 to make a decision and now environmental groups are hoping a federal judge will force the issue.
