Shield Protects Reporter in Cult Case

SAN DIEGO - A Riverside Press-Enterprise reporter was called as a witness by the defense Wednesday in the sanity phase of a cult leader's trial, but the defendant's right to a fair trial never became an issue and California's shield law was never invoked.
