Commission Rejects $9M Rampart-Prevention Program
The Los Angeles Police Commission Tuesday rejected a Police Department proposal to spend $9 million a year on a program that would create hundreds of supervisory positions while potentially taking 180 patrol officers off the street, and it instructed the department to explain the proposal's effect on service levels before it returns for reconsideration March 28.
