Senate Debates Fates Of Paez and Berzon

WASHINGTON - Despite last-ditch efforts of conservative Republicans to derail confirmation, the long-delayed nominations of Los Angeles District Judge Richard A. Paez and San Francisco labor lawyer Marsha Berzon to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals moved to the precipice of a vote by the full Senate after three hours of debate Tuesday.
