Life on the Streets

Cops-and-robbers shows on television usually have plots dealing with murder, rape, robbery, drugs, spousal or child abuse, and a host of other violent and dreary subjects. It makes you think that all the time spent by police officers doing their jobs is depressing and dangerous. To be sure, much of it is. But police work at times can be boring. It also can be humorous. The following vignettes are examples of a couple of just such cases.
