Michael Eisner's Torante Group was co-purchaser of Topps Co. The former Disney CEO's group, along with Madison Dearborn Partners LLC, paid $385 million for the rights to the baseball card manufacturer. Munger, Tolles & Olson counseled Torante in the transaction with a team led by corporate partner Rob Knauss. Corporate associates Maria Seferian, Will Cano and Connie Chiang assisted. Torante and Dearborn outbid Topps rival Upper Deck in the process.
