State High Court Will Weigh In on Fees for Pro Bono Work

Four years ago, appellate specialist Charlie Bird of San Diego won a landmark California Supreme Court case that cemented the rights of gays and lesbians to adopt children.

      Four years ago, appellate specialist Charlie Bird of San Diego won a landmark California Supreme Court case that cemented the rights of gays and lesbians to adopt children.
      Today, Bird will ask the high court at oral argument to award him nearly $100,000 in attorneys fees for handling the litigation pro bono.
