Medtronic to Pay Abbott $400 Million

Medtronic Inc. settled all of its worldwide legal disputes Monday with Illinois-based Abbott Laboratories for $400 million the day trial was set to begin in San Francisco.

On the day jury selection was scheduled to begin in the latest patent-infringement trial between two rival medical-device makers, Medtronic Inc. settled all of its worldwide legal disputes with Illinois-based Abbott Laboratories for $400 million.
