SF judge approves $14.7B VW settlement, but company still faces inquiries

Volkswagen AG isn't off the hook yet, even after a San Francisco federal judge on Tuesday approved a $14.7 billion settlement that will resolve litigation concerning a half million cars it rigged to fool U.S. emissions tests.

Volkswagen AG isn't off the hook yet, even after a San Francisco federal judge on Tuesday approved a $14.7 billion settlement that will resolve litigation concerning a half million cars it rigged to fool U.S. emissions tests.

While the agreement relieves VW of much of its civil liability, the German auto giant remains vulnerable to lawsuits and criminal investigations in the U.S. and abroad.
