'Spinal Tap' star seeks $125 million from film owners

Harry Shearer claims he and fellow co-creators have been underpaid for decades.

Harry Shearer, an actor who played fictional bassist Derek Smalls in the 1984 film "This is Spinal Tap," is looking to reclaim the character as part of a $125 million lawsuit against French media conglomerate Vivendi S.A.

Vivendi, which holds the rights to the film, has underpaid Shearer and other "Spinal Tap" co-creators on net receipts from the film through deception...
