L.A. City Attorney Ups Stakes

Armed with an appellate ruling in its favor, the Los Angeles city attorney's office will be back in front of a judge today in its long-running enforcement action against Anthem Blue Cross for rescinding policies.

LOS ANGELES - Armed with an appellate court ruling in its favor, the Los Angeles city attorney's office will be back in front of a judge Monday in its long-running civil action against Anthem Blue Cross over the controversial practice of rescission.

The office now claims the state's largest health plan cheated as many as 1.7 million policyholders.
