SF lawyer files antitrust suit seeking to block merger of beer companies

San Francisco plaintiffs' lawyer Joseph M. Alioto is seeking to block the merger of a pair of juggernaut beer companies.

San Francisco plaintiffs' lawyer Joseph M. Alioto is seeking to block the merger of a pair of juggernaut beer companies.

Teaming up with lawyers in California, New Jersey, and Oregon, Alioto claims in a federal lawsuit filed Tuesday that the combination of Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV with SABMiller PLC "most probably" create a monopoly for beer and raise prices on liquor.
