For second time, case against former Vitesse execs ends in mistrial

For the second time in a year, a federal judge has declared a mistrial in a criminal case against two former top executives of Camarillo-based Vitesse Semiconductor.

For the second time in a year, a federal judge has declared a mistrial in a criminal case against two former top executives of Camarillo-based Vitesse Semiconductor.


The jury hung on the allegation that former Chief Executive Officer Louis Tomasetta and former Executive Vice President Eugene Hovanec conspired to commit securities fraud by inflating company earnings and backdating stock options.
