TiVo ends 'Time Warp' patent fight

TiVo late last week settled long-running patent disputes with Cisco, Motorola and Time Warner Cable over its digital video recording technology for $490 million.

TiVo Inc. late last week settled long-running patent disputes with Cisco Systems Inc., Google's Motorola Mobility Inc. and Time Warner Cable over its digital video recording technology. As part of the settlement, Google Inc. and Cisco will pay TiVo $490 million, and the parties will avert a trial that was set to begin in Texas this week.
