As former Bell city officials are convicted on corruption charges, state wins right to sue them

The state attorney general's office can sue former city of Bell officials, convicted of stealing public funds by taking excessive salaries and benefits, after a state appellate panel reversed the trial court's dismissal of the case.

The state attorney general's office can sue former city of Bell officials convicted of stealing public funds after a state appellate panel Wednesday reversed a lower court's dismissal of the case.


The ruling came on the same day guilty verdicts were read for five former city council members charged in the scandal.
