Consequences of court closures may cost more than keeping them open
If the savings to the state by closing a courthouse will be eaten up by the costs, why is the state doing it? By Richard Herzog
In response to California Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye's State of the Judiciary address, which equated the imminent closure of courthouses around the state with denial of justice, all I can say is, "what took you so long?"
The unprecedented massive closures, resulting in loss of jobs, inconvenience to litigants, denial of justice, and, in many cases, no savings to taxpayers, ...
