State Supreme Court grants reprieve to defendant, reverses appellate court

A man who received a 25-years-to-life sentence after a stove he stole fell from the back of his truck more than an hour after the burglary, killing a motorist, must get a new trial, the state Supreme Court ruled Thursday.
