Concern mounting over fee increases to fund courts

Attorneys and court funding advocates argue the latest round of court fee increases in Gov. Brown's budget proposal is harming public's ability to have day in court.

Years of budget cuts to courts have forced the judicial branch to hike court fees to make ends meet. This year's budget is no exception. But concern is mounting that fee increases are limiting people's access, particularly the poor.
