Renowned San Francisco appellate attorney Sanford "Sandy" Svetcov died Friday morning after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 72.

Renowned San Francisco appellate attorney Sanford "Sandy" Svetcov died Friday morning after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 72.
Svetcov spent his last year juggling chemotherapy treatments and brief writing for Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP, working out of its San Francisco office up until a few weeks ago, co-workers said.
