San Diego pension reform inititiative unlawful, PERB judge says

The decision held that then-Mayor Jerry Sanders was obligated to negotiate the measure with labor unions before taking it to voters.

City pension reform passed by San Diego voters last year violates state labor law, according to a proposed decision released Tuesday by an administrative law judge.


The decision, written by Public Employment Relations Board Judge Donn Ginoza, held that then-Mayor Jerry Sanders was obligated to negotiate the measure with labor unions before taking it to voters.
