Entertainment lawyer honored with Legacy Award

On Nov. 2, Southwestern Law School recognized Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP partner Russell Frackman and two other attorneys for their contributions to the entertainment and media industries, the legal profession and legal education, at the Donald E. Biederman Entertainment and Media Law Institute Awards Reception at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills. Frackman received the first Donald E. Biederman Legacy Award, an honor bestowed on a member of the bench or bar who upholds the highest standards of ethics and professionalism as a leader in entertainment and media law. Frackman was recognized for his stewardship of important copyright and trademark cases. "Russ Frackman is a gentleman-lawyer who embodies many of the wonderful personal and professional qualities for which my dad was known and loved," said Jeff Biederman, who presented the award to Mr. Frackman. "Russ was also a dear friend of my father's. It is most fitting that he is the first recipient of the Donald E. Biederman Legacy Award." Thomas H. Hoberman and Deborah Drooz were also honored for their contributions to entertainment and media law.
