HP Sues Former CEO

In a complaint filed Tuesday, Hewlett-Packard Co. said Mark Hurd would carry trade secrets to his new job at rival Oracle Corp.

SAN JOSE - Hewlett-Packard Co. filed a complaint Tuesday seeking to block its former chief executive officer, Mark Hurd, from taking a job as co-president of rival Oracle Corp.

But California law, which encourages employee mobility, is likely to make it very difficult for Hewlett-Packard to succeed.
