Thirty-nine years ago Roe v. Wade (410 U.S. 113 (1973)) became law, legalizing abortion in the first trimester of pregnancy. Despite the fervent controversy surrounding it, the subject is seldom studied in law schools, according to a recent survey by Oakland's Law Students for Reproductive Justice. The organization counted courses and instructor-led reading groups focusing on reproductive rights law and justice taught since the 200304 academic year.
