Fixture of LA civil bench to retire

Citing unspecified personal reasons, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Carl J. West has announced his early retirement from public judging, effective Feb. 29.

LOS ANGELES - A fixture of the state's largest trial court, Superior Court Judge Carl J. West, has announced he will step down from the bench, effective Feb. 29.


In a Thursday interview, West said he informed the court last week about his retirement plans. West has been supervising judge of the county's complex civil courthouse - Central Civil West - for the last two years.
