Bar exam test takers complain of loud conditions

Sacramento bar exam takers had the misfortune of sitting in a room adjacent to the National Youth Gathering of the United Methodist Church, which describes itself as "the largest single gathering of UMC youth in existence."

SACRAMENTO - Joseph Larmour says preparing for the notoriously tough State Bar Exam cost him about $10,000 in prep classes and time off from work to study.


So when Larmour entered the Sacramento Convention Center with thousands of other students to take the test in July, he tried to calm his nerves.
