Health care systems settle overbilling charges

Two health care systems have settled allegations they overcharged Medicare for services.

Catholic Healthcare West paid $875,564 and Sutter Health paid $1.4 million to settle allegations that some of their hospitals overcharged Medicare for infusion therapy and lithotripsy services, U.S. Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner in the Eastern District of California announced on Wednesday.
