Government challenges benefits to dead sperm donor's kids


The U.S. Supreme Court agreed Monday to consider if children conceived by sperm from a deceased donor are eligible for survivor benefits.


Karen Capato used the sperm her husband donated three years before he died. After her twin babies were born, she applied for Social Security benefits on behalf of her children as survivors of a dead wage earner.
